Roofing leads from public permits, in your inbox every week.
LocalLead BC turns public municipal permit records and public weather alerts into a short weekly digest for roofing companies, along with ready-to-use letter and door-hanger templates.
Built for roofers in the Lower Mainland and Victoria. Planned launch coverage: Vancouver, Surrey, Delta, Maple Ridge, New Westminster and the City of Victoria. We're not taking payments yet.
From raw permit data to a short list you can act on
Permit data is public but messy. We do the filtering so you don't have to dig through thousands of records.
We gather public records
We track newly issued public municipal permit records and public weather alerts across our coverage areas.
We pick out the roofing work
We sort through the noise to find the projects most likely to involve roofing work and flag how confident we are. “Roof” in a description doesn't always mean a reroof.
You get one weekly email
A short, readable digest arrives once a week with the best leads for your service area, a storm watch, and outreach templates you can mail or hand-deliver.
Everything a roofing crew needs for the week ahead
- Permit leads: roof alterations, new single-family homes and multiplexes, and demolitions (early signals for rebuilds).
- Area and project details for each lead, at block level.
- Builder and contractor business details when they're publicly available, so you can bid on the roof package early.
- Storm watch: current public wind and rainfall warnings for your area.
- Outreach templates: builder intro letters, door hangers and neighbourhood letters.
- CSV export of the week's leads for your own CRM.
What we deliberately leave out
We don't collect, sell or include homeowner names, personal emails or personal phone numbers. LocalLead BC has no feature for emailing or texting homeowners. Contacting homeowners without consent can break Canada's anti-spam law (CASL), so our templates are for letters, door hangers and conversations in person.

Here's what a week could look like
| Signal | Area (sample) | Why it matters | Roof fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Permit: exterior alteration, garage and main roof | 1800-block E 6th Ave, Grandview–Woodland, Vancouver | Roofing work is already permitted. Offer a second look at flashing or gutter add-ons. | High |
| Permit: new multiplex | 4400-block, Kerrisdale, Vancouver | The general contractor will award the roofing subcontract. Introduce yourself before framing starts. | High |
| Permit: demolition, older house | 3200-block, Hastings–Sunrise, Vancouver | Teardowns usually become new builds within 3–12 months. | Medium |
| Permit: new single-family home | 16800-block 60 Ave, Clayton, Surrey | An area with lots of permits. Pitch volume pricing to the builder. | Medium |

Frequently asked questions
Which areas do you cover?
Planned launch coverage: Vancouver, Surrey, Delta, Maple Ridge and New Westminster in the Lower Mainland, plus the City of Victoria. Coming next: Burnaby, Richmond, Abbotsford and more Lower Mainland cities as cities approve use of their permit data.
Where does the data come from?
From public municipal permit records and public weather alerts, used under the applicable open government licences. We only use permit data that cities publish for reuse, and we never include homeowners' personal information. The required attributions are on our data sources page.
Is this legal to use?
The public records we use are published under open government licences that allow commercial reuse with attribution. We keep homeowner personal information out of the digest and don't offer email or SMS tools for contacting homeowners. You're responsible for contacting people lawfully. Our templates are for mail, door hangers and conversations in person. See our terms.
Will you include homeowner names or phone numbers?
No. Digests contain project details from public records and builder or contractor business contact details when those are publicly available.
Does every permit mean a roofing job?
No. A permit is a signal, not a guaranteed job. We rate each lead for how likely it is to involve roofing work and label our confidence, but you should always use your own judgement.
When will you launch, and what does it cost?
We're in pre-launch. Planned founding pricing is CA$49–79 per month, but nothing is for sale yet and we aren't taking payments. People on the waitlist will hear first.
How do I unsubscribe or get my details removed?
Use the unsubscribe link in any email or send a request through our contact form. We'll process it promptly, and within 10 business days at the latest.
