Privacy policy
How LocalLead BC handles the information you give us. Last updated October 25, 2026.
LocalLead BC (“we”, “us”) is a pre-launch service based in British Columbia. We follow British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and Canada's anti-spam legislation (CASL). This policy explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it and what choices you have.
1. What we collect
- Waitlist form: your name, company name, work email, main service area, optional business phone number and the products you're interested in, plus a record of your consent to receive emails (what you agreed to and when).
- Contact form: your name, email, the topic you choose and your message.
- Client setup form (for clients we've invited to set up a digest): your business name, logo, business phone, business email, website, service-area cities, trade, optional licence number and business mailing address, and a record of the email consent you gave (the exact wording, when and how).
- Unsubscribe page: the unsubscribe code from your email link (or the email address you enter) and an optional reason.
- Basic technical data: our hosting provider may process standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and to keep the site running. We don't use advertising trackers or third-party analytics cookies.
We only ask for business contact details. Please don't send us information about homeowners or other individuals.
2. Why we collect it
- To manage the waitlist and send the emails you agreed to (launch updates, early-access offers and a free sample digest).
- To answer questions and handle requests you send through the contact form.
- To understand which areas and products roofers want, so we know what to build first.
We don't sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we don't share it with anyone except the service providers described below.
3. Consent and unsubscribing
We only email you if you ticked the consent box on our form. You can withdraw your consent at any time with the unsubscribe link in any email or through our contact form. We'll act on your request promptly, and within 10 business days at the latest.
4. Information in our digests
Our digests are built from public municipal permit records and public weather alerts. We don't collect, include or sell homeowner names, personal email addresses or personal phone numbers. Property information is limited to project details in public records, shown at block level. Builder and contractor details are business contact information. See data sources & attribution.
5. Service providers and storage
Our website and its forms are hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., and form submissions (including any uploaded logo) are stored on Cloudflare's systems, which may be located outside Canada (including in the United States). With each submission we keep only the country your connection came from, not your IP address. Information stored outside Canada may be subject to the laws of that country. We'll name any other providers (for example, an email delivery service) here before we use them.
6. How long we keep it
- Waitlist details: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, or 24 months after launch if you don't become a customer, whichever comes first.
- Consent records: kept as long as we're allowed to email you and for up to 3 years afterwards, so we can show we had your consent as CASL requires.
- Contact-form messages: up to 12 months after your request is resolved.
- Raw copies of public permit and weather data that we download to build digests: deleted after 90 days.
7. Safeguards
We use reasonable security measures, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections, access limited to the people who run LocalLead BC, and account security on our providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
8. Your rights: access, correction and deletion
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Send a request through our contact form and choose “Privacy request”. We'll respond within 30 days as required by PIPA.
9. Privacy contact and complaints
Questions go to the LocalLead BC privacy officer through our contact form. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia at oipc.bc.ca.
10. Changes
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new “last updated” date. If a change is significant, we'll let people on the waitlist know by email.
